Our

Sunday

Sunday
mornings begin at 9:30 with Sunday School classes for all ages. At
10:45 the morning
worship service beings. It is traditional and generally based around
the expositional preaching of the Scriptures. The evening service
begins
at 6 P.M. and is either expositional or topically based.
During
both the morning (including Sunday School) and evening services nursery
care for infants is available. For children up to age nine, a Jr.
Church service is also offered concurrent with the morning worship
service at 10:45.
Wednesday Service
The
regular Wednesday night prayer
meeting starts at 7:30 and includes a Bible message or devotional.
Through the Summer months, we offer small group studies in our
“cottage ministry groups” which meet in members
houses as
well as at the church itself.
AWANA
One
of the foundations of our children's ministry
is our AWANA program. This meets during the fall and spring semesters
on Wednesday nights at 7 P.M. For more information click
here.
Heritage
Bible Institute
Through
the fall and spring semesters two courses are offered on Monday nights.
These classes are from 7-8 P.M. and then 8-9 P.M. The
instruction
is a modified Bible College type curriculum presenting a diversified
area of study. Classes can be taken for personal growth as well or for
credit towards a Bible institute certification. Classes are open to
anyone who wants to take them. For information as to what classes are
being offerred, please email
or call us.
Heritage Bible
Institute is under the direction and teaching of Senior
Pastor James Barr.
Ladies Ministry
There
are several service ministries and inter-church activities for ladies
at HBC throughout the year. Every month a ladies newsletter entitled
“The Joyful Journey” is published with articles
written by
ladies within the church. There are also several ladies’
banquets
and fellowships.
Music
Ministry
For
those who enjoy music and sing or play instruments there are many
avenues for involvement for members of HBC. For those who enjoy
singing, a volunteer choir practices and sings in the fall and spring.
The choir usually sings for a Christmas and Easter program. Small
groups and solos are also a part of the ministry for those who are
interested in them. Instrumentalists are welcomed to play during
the
congregational singing
and are often a part of the Christmas and Easter season. Opportunities
to minister through offertories are also readily available.
For Christmas a Children's Choir is also
formed for those who
are
interested between the ages of 6 and 13. The
Children’s
Choir
generally starts practicing in mid-October and meets during the regular
7 P.M. Sunday Evening Service.
The Music Ministry of HBC is under the
direction of Pastor
Stephen DeWalt
Vacation Bible
School (VBS)
Each summer (generally the last week of June) HBC has a VBS program
that is open for anyone to attend. Each year a different theme is used
to communicate the truth of the Bible. Activities during the event
include games, snacks, crafts, and lesson time.
Youth Ministry
We
have an active (and sizeable) Jr. Hi and Sr. Hi youth group which goes
out on many service and recreational outings throughout the year.
Bi-monthly they have a “Teen Church” services
during the
regular Sunday evening service. Every other year the teens are also
offered the opportunity to serve on a mission’s trip either
within the United States or over-seas. The youth group is under the
supervision of Pastor
Luke Rex.
Young Adults
The
singles ministry (college age and above) have a unique group called the
Young Adult Ministry group (YAMs).The YAMs meet for their own Sunday
School class as for social and ministry events.
